بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًاۙ
Yaa ai-yuhaannabii-yuuttaqillaha walaa tuthi'il kaafiriina wal munaafiqiina innallaha kaana 'aliiman hakiiman
O Prophet, fear Allah and do not obey the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Verily Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise.
وَّاتَّبِعْ مَا يُوْحٰىٓ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرًاۙ
Waattabi' maa yuuha ilaika min rabbika innallaha kaana bimaa ta'maluuna khabiiran
Follow that which is revealed to you from your Lord. Verily Allah is fully aware of all that you do.
وَّتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَكِيْلًا
Watawakkal 'alallahi wakafa billahi wakiilaa
Put your trust in Allah: Allah is sufficient as Guardian.
مَا جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِّنْ قَلْبَيْنِ فِيْ جَوْفِهٖ ۚوَمَا جَعَلَ اَزْوَاجَكُمُ الّٰـِٕۤيْ تُظٰهِرُوْنَ مِنْهُنَّ اُمَّهٰتِكُمْ ۚوَمَا جَعَلَ اَدْعِيَاۤءَكُمْ اَبْنَاۤءَكُمْۗ ذٰلِكُمْ قَوْلُكُمْ بِاَفْوَاهِكُمْ ۗوَاللّٰهُ يَقُوْلُ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ يَهْدِى السَّبِيْلَ
Maa ja'alallahu lirajulin min qalbaini fii jaufihi wamaa ja'ala azwaajakumulaa-ii tuzhaahiruuna minhunna ummahaatikum wamaa ja'ala ad'iyaa-akum abnaa-akum dzalikum qaulukum biafwaahikum wallahu yaquulul haqqa wahuwa yahdiissabiil(a)
Allah has never put two hearts within one person's body; nor has He made your wives, whom you compare to your mothers' backs (to divorce them), your true mothers; nor has He made those whom you adopt as sons your own sons. These are only words that you utter with your mouths. But Allah proclaims the Truth and directs you to the Right Path.
اُدْعُوْهُمْ لِاٰبَاۤىِٕهِمْ هُوَ اَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۚ فَاِنْ لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوْٓا اٰبَاۤءَهُمْ فَاِخْوَانُكُمْ فِى الدِّيْنِ وَمَوَالِيْكُمْ ۗوَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيْمَآ اَخْطَأْتُمْ بِهٖ وَلٰكِنْ مَّا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوْبُكُمْ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا
Ad'uuhum li-aabaa-ihim huwa aqsathu 'indallahi fa-in lam ta'lamuu aabaa-ahum fa-ikhwaanukum fiiddiini wamawaaliikum walaisa 'alaikum junaahun fiimaa akhtha'tum bihi walakin maa ta'ammadat quluubukum wakaanallahu ghafuuran rahiiman
Call your adopted sons after their true fathers; that is more equitable in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their true fathers, then regard them as your brethren in faith and as allies. You will not be taken to task for your mistaken utterances, but you will be taken to task for what you say deliberately. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.
اَلنَّبِيُّ اَوْلٰى بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ مِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَاَزْوَاجُهٗٓ اُمَّهٰتُهُمْ ۗوَاُولُوا الْاَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلٰى بِبَعْضٍ فِيْ كِتٰبِ اللّٰهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُهٰجِرِيْنَ اِلَّآ اَنْ تَفْعَلُوْٓا اِلٰٓى اَوْلِيَاۤىِٕكُمْ مَّعْرُوْفًا ۗ كَانَ ذٰلِكَ فِى الْكِتٰبِ مَسْطُوْرًا
Annabii-yu aula bil mu'miniina min anfusihim wa-azwaajuhu ummahaatuhum wa-uuluul arhaami ba'dhuhum aula biba'dhin fii kitaabillahi minal mu'miniina wal muhaajiriina ilaa an taf'aluu ila auliyaa-ikum ma'ruufan kaana dzalika fiil kitaabi masthuuran
Surely the Prophet has a greater claim over the believers than they have over each other, and his wives are their mothers. According to the Book of Allah, blood relatives have greater claim over each other than the rest of the believers and the Emigrants (in the cause of Allah), except that you may do some good to your allies (if you so wish). This is inscribed in the Book of Allah.
وَاِذْ اَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيّٖنَ مِيْثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُّوْحٍ وَّاِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَمُوْسٰى وَعِيْسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۖوَاَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِّيْثَاقًا غَلِيْظًاۙ
Wa-idz akhadznaa minannabii-yiina miitsaaqahum waminka wamin nuuhin wa-ibraahiima wamuusa wa'iisaabni maryama wa-akhadznaa minhum miitsaaqan ghaliizhan
And call to mind, (O Prophet), when We took the covenant from all Prophets; and also from you and Noah and Abraham, Moses, and Jesus the son of Mary. We took from them a solemn covenant
لِّيَسْـَٔلَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ عَنْ صِدْقِهِمْ ۚوَاَعَدَّ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا ࣖ
Liyasalash-shaadiqiina 'an shidqihim wa-a'adda lilkaafiriina 'adzaaban aliiman
so that (their Lord) may question the truthful about their truthfulness. As for the unbelievers, He has kept a painful chastisement in store for them.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اذْكُرُوْا نِعْمَةَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ اِذْ جَاۤءَتْكُمْ جُنُوْدٌ فَاَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيْحًا وَّجُنُوْدًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرًاۚ
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuuudzkuruu ni'matallahi 'alaikum idz jaa-atkum junuudun fa-arsalnaa 'alaihim riihan wajunuudan lam tarauhaa wakaanallahu bimaa ta'maluuna bashiiran
Believers, call to mind Allah's favour to you when enemy hosts invaded you. Then We sent against them a wind and hosts that you did not see although Allah was observing all that you were then doing.
اِذْ جَاۤءُوْكُمْ مِّنْ فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ اَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَاِذْ زَاغَتِ الْاَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوْبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ الظُّنُوْنَا۠ ۗ
Idz jaa-uukum min fauqikum wamin asfala minkum wa-idz zaaghatil abshaaru wabalaghatil quluubul hanaajira watazhunnuuna billahizh-zhunuunaa
When they came upon you from above you and from below you, when your eyes were stupefied with horror and your hearts leapt to your throats, and you began to entertain diverse thoughts about Allah.
هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ وَزُلْزِلُوْا زِلْزَالًا شَدِيْدًا
Hunaalikaabtuliyal mu'minuuna wazulziluu zilzaaalan syadiidan
The believers were then put to a severe test and were most violently convulsed.
وَاِذْ يَقُوْلُ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ وَالَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗٓ اِلَّا غُرُوْرًا
Wa-idz yaquulul munaafiquuna waal-ladziina fii quluubihim maradhun maa wa'adanaallahu warasuuluhu ilaa ghuruuran
And call to mind when the hypocrites and all those with diseased hearts said: “All that Allah and His Messenger had promised us was nothing but deceit.”
وَاِذْ قَالَتْ طَّاۤىِٕفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يٰٓاَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَارْجِعُوْا ۚوَيَسْتَأْذِنُ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُوْلُوْنَ اِنَّ بُيُوْتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ ۗوَمَا هِيَ بِعَوْرَةٍ ۗاِنْ يُّرِيْدُوْنَ اِلَّا فِرَارًا
Wa-idz qaalat thaa-ifatun minhum yaa ahla yatsriba laa muqaama lakum faarji'uu wayasta'dzinu fariiqun minhumunnabii-ya yaquuluuna inna buyuutanaa 'auratun wamaa hiya bi'auratin in yuriiduuna ilaa firaaran
And when a section of them said: “(O people of Yathrib), now there is no place for you to stay, so turn back.” (And call to mind) when a section of them was seeking permission from the Prophet to leave, saying: “Our houses are exposed (to attack),” although they were not exposed (to attack); they only wished to flee (from the battle-front).
وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنْ اَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُـِٕلُوا الْفِتْنَةَ لَاٰتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوْا بِهَآ اِلَّا يَسِيْرًا
Walau dukhilat 'alaihim min aqthaarihaa tsumma su-iluul fitnata li-aatauhaa wamaa talabbatsuu bihaa ilaa yasiiran
If the enemy were to enter the town from various directions, and they were summoned to act treacherously, they would have succumbed to it and would have shown little reluctance in doing so.
وَلَقَدْ كَانُوْا عَاهَدُوا اللّٰهَ مِنْ قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّوْنَ الْاَدْبَارَ ۗوَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللّٰهِ مَسْـُٔوْلًا
Walaqad kaanuu 'aahaduullaha min qablu laa yuwalluunal adbaara wakaana 'ahdullahi mas-uulaa
They had earlier covenanted with Allah that they would not turn their backs in flight. And a covenant made with Allah must needs be answered for.
قُلْ لَّنْ يَّنْفَعَكُمُ الْفِرَارُ اِنْ فَرَرْتُمْ مِّنَ الْمَوْتِ اَوِ الْقَتْلِ وَاِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُوْنَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا
Qul lan yanfa'akumul firaaru in farartum minal mauti awil qatli wa-idzan laa tumatta'uuna ilaa qaliilaa
(O Prophet), tell them: “If you run away from death or slaying, this flight will not avail you. You will have little time after that to enjoy (the pleasures of life).”
قُلْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَعْصِمُكُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ اِنْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوْۤءًا اَوْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً ۗوَلَا يَجِدُوْنَ لَهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيًّا وَّلَا نَصِيْرًا
Qul man dzaal-ladzii ya'shimukum minallahi in araada bikum suu-an au araada bikum rahmatan walaa yajiduuna lahum min duunillahi walii-yan walaa nashiiran
Say (to them): “Who can protect you from Allah if He desires an evil for you? And who can prevent Him if He desires to show mercy to you?” They shall find none other than Allah to be their protector or helper.
۞ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ اللّٰهُ الْمُعَوِّقِيْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَالْقَاۤىِٕلِيْنَ لِاِخْوَانِهِمْ هَلُمَّ اِلَيْنَا ۚوَلَا يَأْتُوْنَ الْبَأْسَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًاۙ
Qad ya'lamullahul mu'au-wiqiina minkum wal qaa-iliina la-ikhwaanihim halumma ilainaa walaa ya'tuunal ba'sa ilaa qaliilaa
Allah knows well those of you who create obstructions (in war efforts) and say to their brethren: “Come and join us.” They hardly take any part in battle.
اَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَاِذَا جَاۤءَ الْخَوْفُ رَاَيْتَهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ تَدُوْرُ اَعْيُنُهُمْ كَالَّذِيْ يُغْشٰى عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِۚ فَاِذَا ذَهَبَ الْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوْكُمْ بِاَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ اَشِحَّةً عَلَى الْخَيْرِۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوْا فَاَحْبَطَ اللّٰهُ اَعْمَالَهُمْۗ وَكَانَ ذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيْرًا
Asyihhatan 'alaikum fa-idzaa jaa-al khaufu ra-aitahum yanzhuruuna ilaika taduuru a'yunuhum kaal-ladzii yughsya 'alaihi minal mauti fa-idzaa dzahabal khaufu salaquukum bialsinatin hidaadin asyihhatan 'alal khairi uula-ika lam yu'minuu fa-ahbathallahu a'maalahum wakaana dzalika 'alallahi yasiiran
They are utterly niggardly (in coming to your aid). Whenever there is danger, you will see them looking at you, their eyes rolling as though they were on the verge of fainting at the approach of death. But when the danger passes away, their greed for wealth prompts them to greet you with their sharp, scissor-like tongues. These are the ones who never truly believed, and so Allah has caused their deeds to be reduced to naught. That is easy enough for Allah.
يَحْسَبُوْنَ الْاَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوْا ۚوَاِنْ يَّأْتِ الْاَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوْا لَوْ اَنَّهُمْ بَادُوْنَ فِى الْاَعْرَابِ يَسْاَلُوْنَ عَنْ اَنْۢبَاۤىِٕكُمْ ۖوَلَوْ كَانُوْا فِيْكُمْ مَّا قٰتَلُوْٓا اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا ࣖ
Yahsabuunal ahzaaba lam yadzhabuu wa-in ya'til ahzaabu yawadduu lau annahum baaduuna fiil a'raabi yasaluuna 'an anbaa-ikum walau kaanuu fiikum maa qaataluu ilaa qaliilaa
They think that the invading confederates have not yet gone. But if the confederates were to mount another assault, they would wish to be in the desert among the bedouins and keep themselves informed about you from there. But even if they remained in your midst, hardly would they fight.
لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيْ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللّٰهَ كَثِيْرًاۗ
Laqad kaana lakum fii rasuulillahi uswatun hasanatun liman kaana yarjuullaha wal yauma-aakhira wadzakarallaha katsiiran
Surely there was a good example for you in the Messenger of Allah, for all those who look forward to Allah and the Last Day and remember Allah much.
وَلَمَّا رَاَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ الْاَحْزَابَۙ قَالُوْا هٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ وَصَدَقَ اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ ۖوَمَا زَادَهُمْ اِلَّآ اِيْمَانًا وَّتَسْلِيْمًاۗ
Walammaa raal mu'minuunal ahzaaba qaaluuu hadzaa maa wa'adanaallahu warasuuluhu washadaqallahu warasuuluhu wamaa zaadahum ilaa iimaanan watasliiman
As for the true believers, when they saw the invading confederates, they cried out: “This is what Allah and His Messenger had promised us, and what Allah and His Messenger said was absolutely true.” This only increased their faith and submission.
مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوْا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللّٰهَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ فَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ قَضٰى نَحْبَهٗۙ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّنْتَظِرُ ۖوَمَا بَدَّلُوْا تَبْدِيْلًاۙ
Minal mu'miniina rijaalun shadaquu maa 'aahaduullaha 'alaihi faminhum man qadha nahbahu waminhum man yantazhiru wamaa baddaluu tabdiilaa
Among the believers there are those who have remained true to the covenant they made with Allah. Among those some of them have fulfilled their vow and others await the appointed time. They have not changed in the least.
لِيَجْزِيَ اللّٰهُ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ اِنْ شَاۤءَ اَوْ يَتُوْبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًاۚ
Liyajziyallahush-shaadiqiina bishidqihim wayu'adz-dzibal munaafiqiina in syaa-a au yatuuba 'alaihim innallaha kaana ghafuuran rahiiman
(All this is) in order that Allah may reward the truthful for their truthfulness, and either punish the hypocrites or, if He so wills, accept their repentance. Verily Allah is Most Pardoning, Most Compassionate.
وَرَدَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوْا خَيْرًا ۗوَكَفَى اللّٰهُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الْقِتَالَ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيْزًاۚ
Waraddallahul-ladziina kafaruu bighaizhihim lam yanaaluuu khairan wakafallahul mu'miniinal qitaala wakaanallahu qawii-yan 'aziizan
Allah sent back the unbelievers empty-handed, their hearts seething with rage. Allah sufficed the believers in their fight. Allah is Most Powerful, Most Mighty.
وَاَنْزَلَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَاهَرُوْهُمْ مِّنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ مِنْ صَيَاصِيْهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ فَرِيْقًا تَقْتُلُوْنَ وَتَأْسِرُوْنَ فَرِيْقًاۚ
Wa-anzalal-ladziina zhaaharuuhum min ahlil kitaabi min shayaashiihim waqadzafa fii quluubihimurru'ba fariiqan taqtuluuna wata'siruuna fariiqan
Allah brought down from their fortresses those People of the Book who had supported the invading confederates and cast such terror into their hearts that some of them you kill and some of them you take captive.
وَاَوْرَثَكُمْ اَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَارَهُمْ وَاَمْوَالَهُمْ وَاَرْضًا لَّمْ تَطَـُٔوْهَا ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرًا ࣖ
Wa-a-uratsakum ardhahum wadiyaarahum wa-amwaalahum wa-ardhan lam tatha-uuhaa wakaanallahu 'ala kulli syai-in qadiiran
Allah made you inherit their land, their dwellings, and their goods, and a piece of land on which you had not yet trodden. Verily Allah has power over all things.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِّاَزْوَاجِكَ اِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِيْنَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ اُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَاُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيْلًا
Yaa ai-yuhaannabii-yu qul azwaajika in kuntunna turidnal hayaataddunyaa waziinatahaa fata'aalaina umatti'kunna wa-usarrihkunna saraahan jamiilaa
O Prophet, tell your wives: “If you seek the world and its embellishments, then come and I will make some provision for you and release you in an honourable way.
وَاِنْ كُنْتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ وَالدَّارَ الْاٰخِرَةَ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ اَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنٰتِ مِنْكُنَّ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا
Wa-in kuntunna turidnallaha warasuulahu waddaara-aakhirata fa-innallaha a'adda lilmuhsinaati minkunna ajran 'azhiiman
But if you seek Allah and His Messenger and the Abode of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who do good.”
يٰنِسَاۤءَ النَّبِيِّ مَنْ يَّأْتِ مِنْكُنَّ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُّضٰعَفْ لَهَا الْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِۗ وَكَانَ ذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيْرًا ۔
Yaa nisaa-annabii-yi man ya'ti minkunna bifaahisyatin mubai-yinatin yudhaa'af lahaal 'adzaabu dhi'faini wakaana dzalika 'alallahi yasiiran
Wives of the Prophet, if any of you commit flagrant indecency, her chastisement shall be doubled. That is easy for Allah.
۞ وَمَنْ يَّقْنُتْ مِنْكُنَّ لِلّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَتَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا نُّؤْتِهَآ اَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِۙ وَاَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقًا كَرِيْمًا
Waman yaqnut minkunna lillahi warasuulihi wata'mal shaalihan nu'tihaa ajrahaa marrataini wa-a'tadnaa lahaa rizqan kariiman
But whoever of you is obedient to Allah and His Messenger and does good deeds, Allah will double her reward. We have prepared for her a generous provision.
يٰنِسَاۤءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَاَحَدٍ مِّنَ النِّسَاۤءِ اِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِيْ فِيْ قَلْبِهٖ مَرَضٌ وَّقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوْفًاۚ
Yaa nisaa-annabii-yi lastunna kaahadin minannisaa-i iniittaqaitunna falaa takhdha'na bil qauli fayathma'al-ladzii fii qalbihi maradhun waqulna qaulaa ma'ruufan
Wives of the Prophet, you are not like other women. If you fear Allah, do not be too complaisant in your speech lest those with diseased hearts should covet you; but speak in a straight forward manner.
وَقَرْنَ فِيْ بُيُوْتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْاُوْلٰى وَاَقِمْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتِيْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَطِعْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ ۗاِنَّمَا يُرِيْدُ اللّٰهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيْرًاۚ
Waqarna fii buyuutikunna walaa tabarrajna tabarrujal jaahilii-yatil aula wa-aqimnash-shalaata wa-atiinazzakaata wa-athi'nallaha warasuulahu innamaa yuriidullahu liyudzhiba 'ankumurrijsa ahlal baiti wayuthahhirakum tathhiiran
And stay in your homes and do not go about displaying your allurements as in the former Time of Ignorance. Establish Prayer, give Zakah, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only wishes to remove uncleanness from you, O members of the (Prophet's) household, and to purify you completely.
وَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلٰى فِيْ بُيُوْتِكُنَّ مِنْ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ لَطِيْفًا خَبِيْرًا ࣖ
Waadzkurna maa yutla fii buyuutikunna min aayaatillahi wal hikmati innallaha kaana lathiifan khabiiran
Remember the Signs of Allah and the words of wisdom which are rehearsed in your homes. Verily Allah is All-Subtle, All-Aware.
اِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمٰتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ وَالْقٰنِتِيْنَ وَالْقٰنِتٰتِ وَالصّٰدِقِيْنَ وَالصّٰدِقٰتِ وَالصّٰبِرِيْنَ وَالصّٰبِرٰتِ وَالْخٰشِعِيْنَ وَالْخٰشِعٰتِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِيْنَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقٰتِ وَالصَّاۤىِٕمِيْنَ وَالصّٰۤىِٕمٰتِ وَالْحٰفِظِيْنَ فُرُوْجَهُمْ وَالْحٰفِظٰتِ وَالذَّاكِرِيْنَ اللّٰهَ كَثِيْرًا وَّالذَّاكِرٰتِ اَعَدَّ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةً وَّاَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا
Innal muslimiina wal muslimaati wal mu'miniina wal mu'minaati wal qaanitiina wal qaanitaati wash-shaadiqiina wash-shaadiqaati wash-shaabiriina wash-shaabiraati wal khaasyi'iina wal khaasyi'aati wal mutashaddiqiina wal mutashaddiqaati wash-shaa-imiina wash-shaa-imaati wal haafizhiina furuujahum wal haafizhaati wadz-dzaakiriinallaha katsiiran wadz-dzaakiraati a'addallahu lahum maghfiratan wa-ajran 'azhiiman
Surely the men who submit (to Allah) and the women who submit (to Allah), the men who have faith and the women who have faith, the men who are obedient and the women who are obedient, the men who are truthful and the women who are truthful; the men who are steadfast and the women who are steadfast, the men who humble themselves (to Allah) and the women who humble themselves (to Allah), the men who give alms and the women who give alms, the men who fast and the women who fast, the men who guard their chastity and the women who guard their chastity, the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah much: for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and a mighty reward.
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَّلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ اِذَا قَضَى اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗٓ اَمْرًا اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ اَمْرِهِمْ ۗوَمَنْ يَّعْصِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلٰلًا مُّبِيْنًاۗ
Wamaa kaana limu'minin walaa mu'minatin idzaa qadhallahu warasuuluhu amran an yakuuna lahumul khiyaratu min amrihim waman ya'shillaha warasuulahu faqad dhalla dhalaalan mubiinan
It does not behove a believer, male or female, that when Allah and His Messenger have decided an affair they should exercise their choice. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has strayed to manifest error.
وَاِذْ تَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْٓ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ اَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَتُخْفِيْ فِيْ نَفْسِكَ مَا اللّٰهُ مُبْدِيْهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَۚ وَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنْ تَخْشٰىهُ ۗ فَلَمَّا قَضٰى زَيْدٌ مِّنْهَا وَطَرًاۗ زَوَّجْنٰكَهَا لِكَيْ لَا يَكُوْنَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ حَرَجٌ فِيْٓ اَزْوَاجِ اَدْعِيَاۤىِٕهِمْ اِذَا قَضَوْا مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًاۗ وَكَانَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ مَفْعُوْلًا
Wa-idz taquulu lil-ladzii an'amallahu 'alaihi wa-an'amta 'alaihi amsik 'alaika zaujaka waattaqillaha watukhfii fii nafsika maallahu mubdiihi watakhsyannaasa wallahu ahaqqu an takhsyaahu falammaa qadha zaidun minhaa watharan zau-wajnaakahaa likai laa yakuuna 'alal mu'miniina harajun fii azwaaji ad'iyaa-ihim idzaa qadhau minhunna watharan wakaana amrullahi maf'uulaa
(O Prophet), call to mind when you said to him whom Allah had favoured and you had favoured: “Cleave to your wife and fear Allah,” and you concealed within yourself for fear of people what Allah was to reveal, although Allah has greater right that you fear Him. So when Zayd had accomplished what he would of her, We gave her in marriage to you so that there should not be any constraint for the believers regarding the wives of their adopted sons after they had accomplished whatever they would of them. And Allah's command was bound to be accomplished.
مَا كَانَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ مِنْ حَرَجٍ فِيْمَا فَرَضَ اللّٰهُ لَهٗ ۗسُنَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِى الَّذِيْنَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۗوَكَانَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ قَدَرًا مَّقْدُوْرًاۙ
Maa kaana 'alannabii-yi min harajin fiimaa faradhallahu lahu sunnatallahi fiil-ladziina khalau min qablu wakaana amrullahi qadaran maqduuran
There could be no hindrance to the Prophet regarding what Allah ordained for him. Such has been Allah's Way (with the Prophets) who went before. Allah's command is a decree firmly determined.
ۨالَّذِيْنَ يُبَلِّغُوْنَ رِسٰلٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَيَخْشَوْنَهٗ وَلَا يَخْشَوْنَ اَحَدًا اِلَّا اللّٰهَ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ حَسِيْبًا
Al-ladziina yuballighuuna risalaatillahi wayakhsyaunahu walaa yakhsyauna ahadan ilaallaha wakafa billahi hasiiban
(This is Allah's Way) regarding those who deliver the Messages of Allah and who fear Him, and fear no one else than Allah. Allah is Sufficient as a Reckoner.
مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَآ اَحَدٍ مِّنْ رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلٰكِنْ رَّسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيّٖنَۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمًا ࣖ
Maa kaana muhammadun abaa ahadin min rijaalikum walakin rasuulallahi wakhaatamannabii-yiina wakaanallahu bikulli syai-in 'aliiman
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets. Allah has full knowledge of everything.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيْرًاۙ
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuuudz-kuruullaha dzikran katsiiran
Believers, remember Allah much
وَّسَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّاَصِيْلًا
Wasabbihuuhu bukratan wa-ashiilaa
and glorify Him morning and evening.
هُوَ الَّذِيْ يُصَلِّيْ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلٰۤىِٕكَتُهٗ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِۗ وَكَانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ رَحِيْمًا
Huwal-ladzii yushallii 'alaikum wamalaa-ikatuhu liyukhrijakum minazh-zhulumaati ilannuuri wakaana bil mu'miniina rahiiman
It is He Who lavishes His blessings on you and His angels invoke blessings on you that He may lead you out of darkness into light. He is Most Compassionate to the believers.
تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهٗ سَلٰمٌ ۚوَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ اَجْرًا كَرِيْمًا
Tahii-yatuhum yauma yalqaunahu salaamun wa-a'adda lahum ajran kariiman
On the Day they meet Him they will be greeted with: “Peace.” He has prepared for them a generous reward.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ شَاهِدًا وَّمُبَشِّرًا وَّنَذِيْرًاۙ
Yaa ai-yuhaannabii-yu innaa arsalnaaka syaahidan wamubasy-syiran wanadziir
O Prophet, We have sent you forth as a witness, a bearer of good tidings, and a warner,
وَّدَاعِيًا اِلَى اللّٰهِ بِاِذْنِهٖ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيْرًا
Wadaa'iyan ilallahi biidznihi wasiraajan muniiran
as one who calls people to Allah by His leave, and as a bright, shining lamp.
وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ بِاَنَّ لَهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ فَضْلًا كَبِيْرًا
Wabasy-syiril mu'miniina bianna lahum minallahi fadhlaa kabiiran
Announce to the believers the good tidings that Allah has kept bounteous blessings in store for them.
وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ وَدَعْ اَذٰىهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَكِيْلًا
Walaa tuthi'il kaafiriina wal munaafiqiina wada' adzaahum watawakkal 'alallahi wakafa billahi wakiilaa
Do not yield to the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and disregard the hurt that comes from them, and put your trust in Allah. Allah suffices as the Guardian to entrust one's affairs to.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوْهُنَّ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَمَسُّوْهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّوْنَهَاۚ فَمَتِّعُوْهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوْهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيْلًا
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuu idzaa nakahtumul mu'minaati tsumma thallaqtumuuhunna min qabli an tamassuuhunna famaa lakum 'alaihinna min 'iddatin ta'tadduunahaa famatti'uuhunna wasarrihuuhunna saraahan jamiilaa
Believers, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, you may not require them to observe a waiting period that you might reckon against them. So make provision for them and release them in an honourable manner.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اِنَّآ اَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ اَزْوَاجَكَ الّٰتِيْٓ اٰتَيْتَ اُجُوْرَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِيْنُكَ مِمَّآ اَفَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكَ وَبَنٰتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنٰتِ عَمّٰتِكَ وَبَنٰتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنٰتِ خٰلٰتِكَ الّٰتِيْ هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَۗ وَامْرَاَةً مُّؤْمِنَةً اِنْ وَّهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِيِّ اِنْ اَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ اَنْ يَّسْتَنْكِحَهَا خَالِصَةً لَّكَ مِنْ دُوْنِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۗ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيْٓ اَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُهُمْ لِكَيْلَا يَكُوْنَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا
Yaa ai-yuhaannabii-yu innaa ahlalnaa laka azwaajakalaatii aataita ujuurahunna wamaa malakat yamiinuka mimmaa afaa-allahu 'alaika wabanaati 'ammika wabanaati 'ammaatika wabanaati khaalika wabanaati khalaatikalaatii haajarna ma'aka waamraatan mu'minatan in wahabat nafsahaa li-nnabii-yi in araadannabii-yu an yastankihahaa khaalishatan laka min duunil mu'miniina qad 'alimnaa maa faradhnaa 'alaihim fii azwaajihim wamaa malakat aimaanuhum likailaa yakuuna 'alaika harajun wakaanallahu ghafuuran rahiiman
O Prophet, We have made lawful for you your wives whose bridal dues you have paid, and the slave-girls you possess from among the prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and maternal aunts who have migrated with you, and a believing woman who gives herself to the Prophet and whom he wants to take in marriage. (O Prophet), this privilege is yours alone to the exclusion of other believers. We know well what restrictions We have imposed upon them as regards their wives and those whom their right hands possess, (and have exempted you from those restrictions) that there may be no constraint upon you. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
۞ تُرْجِيْ مَنْ تَشَاۤءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُـْٔوِيْٓ اِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاۤءُۗ وَمَنِ ابْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَۗ ذٰلِكَ اَدْنٰٓى اَنْ تَقَرَّ اَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَآ اٰتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمًا حَلِيْمًا
Turjii man tasyaa-u minhunna watu'wii ilaika man tasyaa-u wamaniibtaghaita mimman 'azalta falaa junaaha 'alaika dzalika adna an taqarra a'yunuhunna walaa yahzanna wayardhaina bimaa aataitahunna kulluhunna wallahu ya'lamu maa fii quluubikum wakaanallahu 'aliiman haliiman
Of them you may put off any of them you wish, and you may take any of them whom you wish, and you may call back any of those whom you had (temporarily) set aside: there will be no blame on you (on this account). It is likelier that they will thus be comforted, and will not grieve, and every one of them will be well-pleased with what you give them. Allah knows what is in your hearts. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Forbearing.
لَا يَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَاۤءُ مِنْۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ اَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجٍ وَّلَوْ اَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ اِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِيْنُكَۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رَّقِيْبًا ࣖ
Laa yahillu lakannisaa-u min ba'du walaa an tabaddala bihinna min azwaajin walau a'jabaka husnuhunna ilaa maa malakat yamiinuka wakaanallahu 'ala kulli syai-in raqiiban
Thereafter women will not be lawful for you, and it will not be lawful for you to take other wives in place of them, even though their beauty might please you, unless they be those whom your right hand owns. Allah is watchful over everything.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَدْخُلُوْا بُيُوْتَ النَّبِيِّ اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ اِلٰى طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نٰظِرِيْنَ اِنٰىهُ وَلٰكِنْ اِذَا دُعِيْتُمْ فَادْخُلُوْا فَاِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَانْتَشِرُوْا وَلَا مُسْتَأْنِسِيْنَ لِحَدِيْثٍۗ اِنَّ ذٰلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِى النَّبِيَّ فَيَسْتَحْيٖ مِنْكُمْ ۖوَاللّٰهُ لَا يَسْتَحْيٖ مِنَ الْحَقِّۗ وَاِذَا سَاَلْتُمُوْهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْـَٔلُوْهُنَّ مِنْ وَّرَاۤءِ حِجَابٍۗ ذٰلِكُمْ اَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوْبِكُمْ وَقُلُوْبِهِنَّۗ وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ اَنْ تُؤْذُوْا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ وَلَآ اَنْ تَنْكِحُوْٓا اَزْوَاجَهٗ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖٓ اَبَدًاۗ اِنَّ ذٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ عَظِيْمًا
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuu laa tadkhuluu buyuutannabii-yi ilaa an yu'dzana lakum ila tha'aamin ghaira naazhiriina inaahu walakin idzaa du'iitum faadkhuluu fa-idzaa tha'imtum faantasyiruu walaa musta'nisiina lihadiitsin inna dzalikum kaana yu'dziinnabii-ya fayastahyii minkum wallahu laa yastahyii minal haqqi wa-idzaa saaltumuuhunna mataa'an faasaluuhunna min waraa-i hijaabin dzalikum athharu liquluubikum waquluubihinna wamaa kaana lakum an tu'dzuu rasuulallahi walaa an tankihuu azwaajahu min ba'dihi abadan inna dzalikum kaana 'indallahi 'azhiiman
Believers, enter not the houses of the Prophet without his permission, nor wait for a meal to be prepared; instead enter when you are invited to eat, and when you have had the meal, disperse. Do not linger in idle talk. That is hurtful to the Prophet but he does not express it out of shyness; but Allah is not ashamed of speaking out the Truth. And if you were to ask the wives of the Prophet for something, ask from behind a curtain. That is more apt for the cleanness of your hearts and theirs. It is not lawful for you to cause hurt to Allah's Messenger, nor to ever marry his wives after him. Surely that would be an enormous sin in Allah's sight.
اِنْ تُبْدُوْا شَيْـًٔا اَوْ تُخْفُوْهُ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمًا
In tubduu syai-an au tukhfuuhu fa-innallaha kaana bikulli syai-in 'aliiman
(It does not matter) whether you disclose something or conceal it, for Allah certainly knows everything.
لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فِيْٓ اٰبَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَآ اَبْنَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَآ اِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَلَآ اَبْنَاۤءِ اِخْوَانِهِنَّ وَلَآ اَبْنَاۤءِ اَخَوٰتِهِنَّ وَلَا نِسَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَا مَا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُهُنَّۚ وَاتَّقِيْنَ اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدًا
Laa junaaha 'alaihinna fii aabaa-ihinna walaa abnaa-ihinna walaa ikhwaanihinna walaa abnaa-i ikhwaanihinna walaa abnaa-i akhawaatihinna walaa nisaa-ihinna walaa maa malakat aimaanuhunna waattaqiinallaha innallaha kaana 'ala kulli syai-in syahiidan
It will not be blameworthy for the wives of the Prophet if their fathers, their sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, and the women with whom they have social relations, and the persons whom their right hands possess enter their houses. (O women), shun disobeying Allah. Allah is watchful over everything.
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ وَمَلٰۤىِٕكَتَهٗ يُصَلُّوْنَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّۗ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا صَلُّوْا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِيْمًا
Innallaha wamalaa-ikatahu yushalluuna 'alannabii-yi yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuu shalluu 'alaihi wasallimuu tasliiman
Allah and His angels bless the Prophet. Believers, invoke blessings and peace on him.
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُّهِيْنًا
Innal-ladziina yu'dzuunallaha warasuulahu la'anahumullahu fiiddunyaa wal-aakhirati wa-a'adda lahum 'adzaaban muhiinan
Verily those who cause annoyance to Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating chastisement.
وَالَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوْا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلُوْا بُهْتَانًا وَّاِثْمًا مُّبِيْنًا ࣖ
Waal-ladziina yu'dzuunal mu'miniina wal mu'minaati bighairi maaaktasabuu faqadiihtamaluu buhtaanan wa-itsman mubiinan
Those who cause hurt to believing men and to believing women have invited upon themselves a calumny and a manifest sin.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِّاَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنٰتِكَ وَنِسَاۤءِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ يُدْنِيْنَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلَابِيْبِهِنَّۗ ذٰلِكَ اَدْنٰىٓ اَنْ يُّعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا
Yaa ai-yuhaannabii-yu qul azwaajika wabanaatika wanisaaaa-il mu'miniina yudniina 'alaihinna min jalaabiibihinna dzalika adna an yu'rafna falaa yu'dzaina wakaanallahu ghafuuran rahiiman
O Prophet, enjoin your wives and your daughters and the believing women, to draw a part of their outer coverings around them. It is likelier that they will be recognised and not molested. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
۞ لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ يَنْتَهِ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ وَالَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ وَّالْمُرْجِفُوْنَ فِى الْمَدِيْنَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُوْنَكَ فِيْهَآ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا
La-in lam yantahil munaafiquuna waal-ladziina fii quluubihim maradhun wal murjifuuna fiil madiinati lanughriyannaka bihim tsumma laa yujaawiruunaka fiihaa ilaa qaliilaa
If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts there is a sickness, and the scandal mongers in Madinah do not desist from their vile acts, We shall urge you to take action against them, and then they will hardly be able to stay in the city with you.
مَلْعُوْنِيْنَۖ اَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوْٓا اُخِذُوْا وَقُتِّلُوْا تَقْتِيْلًا
Mal'uuniina ainamaa tsuqifuu ukhidzuu waquttiluu taqtiilaa
They shall be cursed from all around and they shall be ruthlessly killed wherever they are seized.
سُنَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِى الَّذِيْنَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚوَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللّٰهِ تَبْدِيْلًا
Sunnatallahi fiil-ladziina khalau min qablu walan tajida lisunnatillahi tabdiilaa
This has been Allah's Way with those who have gone before, and you shall find no change in Allah's Way.
يَسْـَٔلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِۗ قُلْ اِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَمَا يُدْرِيْكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُوْنُ قَرِيْبًا
Yasalukannaasu 'anissaa'ati qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indallahi wamaa yudriika la'allassaa'ata takuunu qariiban
People ask you concerning the Hour (of Resurrection). Say: “Allah alone has knowledge of it. What do you know? Perhaps the Hour is nigh.”
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَعَنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ سَعِيْرًاۙ
Innallaha la'anal kaafiriina wa-a'adda lahum sa'iiran
Allah has cursed the unbelievers and has prepared for them a Blazing Fire;
خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًاۚ لَا يَجِدُوْنَ وَلِيًّا وَّلَا نَصِيْرًا ۚ
Khaalidiina fiihaa abadan laa yajiduuna walii-yan walaa nashiiran
therein they shall abide for ever. They shall find none to protect or help them.
يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوْهُهُمْ فِى النَّارِ يَقُوْلُوْنَ يٰلَيْتَنَآ اَطَعْنَا اللّٰهَ وَاَطَعْنَا الرَّسُوْلَا۠
Yauma tuqallabu wujuuhuhum fiinnaari yaquuluuna yaa laitanaa atha'naallaha wa-atha'naarrasuulaa
On that Day when their faces shall be turned around in the Fire, they will say: “Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.”
وَقَالُوْا رَبَّنَآ اِنَّآ اَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَاۤءَنَا فَاَضَلُّوْنَا السَّبِيْلَا۠
Waqaaluuu rabbanaa innaa atha'naa saadatanaa wakubaraa-anaa fa-adhalluunaas-sabiilaa
They will say: “Our Lord, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they turned us away from the Right Way.
رَبَّنَآ اٰتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيْرًا ࣖ
Rabbanaa aatihim dhi'faini minal 'adzaabi wal 'anhum la' nan kabiiran
Our Lord, mete out to them a double chastisement and lay upon them a mighty curse.”
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِيْنَ اٰذَوْا مُوْسٰى فَبَرَّاَهُ اللّٰهُ مِمَّا قَالُوْا ۗوَكَانَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَجِيْهًا ۗ
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuu laa takuunuu kaal-ladziina aadzau muusa fabarraahullahu mimmaa qaaluuu wakaana 'indallahi wajiihan
Believers, do not be like those who distressed Moses and then Allah declared him quit of the ill they spoke about him; and he had a high standing with Allah.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَقُوْلُوْا قَوْلًا سَدِيْدًاۙ
Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuuut-taquullaha waquuluu qaulaa sadiidan
Believers, fear Allah and speak the truth:
يُّصْلِحْ لَكُمْ اَعْمَالَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوْبَكُمْۗ وَمَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا
Yushlih lakum a'maalakum wayaghfir lakum dzunuubakum waman yuthi'illaha warasuulahu faqad faaza fauzan 'azhiiman
Allah will set your deeds right for you and will forgive you your sins. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has achieved a great triumph.
اِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْاَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَاَبَيْنَ اَنْ يَّحْمِلْنَهَا وَاَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْاِنْسَانُۗ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ ظَلُوْمًا جَهُوْلًاۙ
Innaa 'aradhnaal amaanata 'alas-samaawaati wal ardhi wal jibaali fa-abaina an yahmilnahaa wa-asyfaqna minhaa wahamalahaa-insaanu innahu kaana zhaluuman jahuulaa
We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to carry it and were afraid of doing so; but man carried it. Surely he is wrong-doing, ignorant.
لِّيُعَذِّبَ اللّٰهُ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقَتِ وَالْمُشْرِكِيْنَ وَالْمُشْرِكٰتِ وَيَتُوْبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا ࣖ
Liyu'adz-dziballahul munaafiqiina wal munaafiqaati wal musyrikiina wal musyrikaati wayatuuballahu 'alal mu'miniina wal mu'minaati wakaanallahu ghafuuran rahiiman
(The consequence of man's carrying the trust is) that Allah may chastise hypocritical men and hypocritical women and accept the repentance of believing men and believing women. He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
