Surah Al-Ma'un: Arabic, Transliteration & Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. 107:1

   اَرَءَيْتَ الَّذِيْ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيْنِۗ

   Ara-aital-ladzii yukadz-dzibu biddiin(i)

   Did you see him who gives the lie to the Reward and Punishment of the Hereafter?

2. 107:2

   فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِيْ يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيْمَۙ

   Fadzalikal-ladzii yadu'uul yatiim(a)

   Such is the one who repulses the orphans away,

3. 107:3

   وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِيْنِۗ

   Walaa yahudh-dhu 'ala tha'aamil miskiin(i)

   and urges not the feeding of the needy.

4. 107:4

   فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّيْنَۙ

   Fawailul(n)-lilmushalliin(a)

   Woe, then, to those who pray,

5. 107:5

   الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُوْنَۙ

   Al-ladziina hum 'an shalaatihim saahuun(a)

   but are heedless in their Prayers,

6. 107:6

   الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ يُرَاۤءُوْنَۙ

   Al-ladziina hum yuraa-uun(a)

   those who do good (in order) to be seen,

7. 107:7

   وَيَمْنَعُوْنَ الْمَاعُوْنَ ࣖ

   Wayamna'uunal maa'uun(a)

   and deny people the articles of common necessity.
