Surah Ar-Rum: Arabic, Transliteration & Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. 30:1

   الۤمّۤ ۚ

   Alif laam miim

   Alif. Lam. Mim.

2. 30:2

   غُلِبَتِ الرُّوْمُۙ

   Ghulibatirruum(u)

   The Romans have been defeated

3. 30:3

   فِيْٓ اَدْنَى الْاَرْضِ وَهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُوْنَۙ

   Fii adnal ardhi wahum min ba'di ghalabihim sayaghlibuun(a)

   in the neighbouring land; but after their defeat they shall gain victory in a few years.

4. 30:4

   فِيْ بِضْعِ سِنِيْنَ ەۗ لِلّٰهِ الْاَمْرُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَمِنْۢ بَعْدُ ۗوَيَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَۙ

   Fii bidh'i siniina lillahil amru min qablu wamin ba'du wayauma-idzin yafrahul mu'minuun(a)

   All power belongs to Allah both before and after. On that day will the believers rejoice

5. 30:5

   بِنَصْرِ اللّٰهِ ۗيَنْصُرُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُۗ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الرَّحِيْمُ

   Binashrillahi yanshuru man yasyaa-u wahuwal 'aziizur-rahiim(u)

   at the victory granted by Allah. He grants victory to whomsoever He pleases. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate.

6. 30:6

   وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللّٰهُ وَعْدَهٗ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ

   Wa'dallahi laa yukhlifullahu wa'dahu walakinna aktsarannaasi laa ya'lamuun(a)

   This is Allah's promise and He does not go back on His promise. But most people do not know.

7. 30:7

   يَعْلَمُوْنَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۖ وَهُمْ عَنِ الْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ غٰفِلُوْنَ

   Ya'lamuuna zhaahiran minal hayaatiddunyaa wahum 'ani-aakhirati hum ghaafiluun(a)

   People simply know the outward aspect of the worldly life but are utterly heedless of the Hereafter.

8. 30:8

   اَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوْا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ ۗ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَاَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۗ وَاِنَّ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ بِلِقَاۤئِ رَبِّهِمْ لَكٰفِرُوْنَ

   Awalam yatafakkaruu fii anfusihim maa khalaqallahus-samaawaati wal ardha wamaa bainahumaa ilaa bil haqqi wa-ajalin musamman wa-inna katsiiran minannaasi biliqaa-i rabbihim lakaafiruun(a)

   Do they not reflect on themselves? Allah created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in Truth and for an appointed term. Yet many people deny that they will meet their Lord.

9. 30:9

   اَوَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۗ كَانُوْٓا اَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَّاَثَارُوا الْاَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوْهَآ اَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوْهَا وَجَاۤءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِۗ فَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَۗ

   Awalam yasiiruu fiil ardhi fayanzhuruu kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul-ladziina min qablihim kaanuu asyadda minhum quu-watan waatsaaruul ardha wa'amaruuhaa aktsara mimmaa 'amaruuhaa wajaa-athum rusuluhum bil bai-yinaati famaa kaanallahu liyazhlimahum walakin kaanuu anfusahum yazhlimuun(a)

   Have they not travelled through the earth that they may observe what was the end of their predecessors who were far mightier and tilled the land and built upon it more than these have ever built? And Allah's Messengers came to them with Clear Signs. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but it is they who wronged themselves.

10. 30:10

    ثُمَّ كَانَ عَاقِبَةَ الَّذِيْنَ اَسَاۤءُوا السُّوْۤاٰىٓ اَنْ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَكَانُوْا بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ࣖ

    Tsumma kaana 'aaqibatal-ladziina asaa-uus-suu-a an kadz-dzabuu biaayaatillahi wakaanuu bihaa yastahzi-uun(a)

    Evil was the end of those evil-doers, for they gave the lie to Allah's Signs and scoffed at them.

11. 30:11

    اَللّٰهُ يَبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ ثُمَّ اِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ

    Allahu yabdaul khalqa tsumma yu'iiduhu tsumma ilaihi turja'uun(a)

    Allah creates in the first instance and will later repeat it. Thereafter it is to Him that you shall be sent back.

12. 30:12

    وَيَوْمَ تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ

    Wayauma taquumussaa'atu yublisul mujrimuun(a)

    On that Day when the Hour will come to pass, the criminals shall be dumbfounded.

13. 30:13

    وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُمْ مِّنْ شُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمْ شُفَعٰۤؤُا وَكَانُوْا بِشُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمْ كٰفِرِيْنَ

    Walam yakun lahum min syurakaa-ihim syufa'aa-u wakaanuu bisyurakaa-ihim kaafiriin(a)

    None whom they had associated with Allah in His Divinity will intercede on their behalf; rather, they will disown those whom they had set up as Allah's associates in His Divinity.

14. 30:14

    وَيَوْمَ تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّتَفَرَّقُوْنَ

    Wayauma taquumussaa'atu yauma-idzin yatafarraquun(a)

    On that Day when the Hour will come to pass, people will be split into groups.

15. 30:15

    فَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَهُمْ فِيْ رَوْضَةٍ يُّحْبَرُوْنَ

    Fa-ammaal-ladziina aamanuu wa'amiluush-shaalihaati fahum fii raudhatin yuhbaruun(a)

    Then those who believed and acted righteously will be placed in a Garden and will be happy and jubilant.

16. 30:16

    وَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَكَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَلِقَاۤئِ الْاٰخِرَةِ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ فِى الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُوْنَ

    Wa-ammaal-ladziina kafaruu wakadz-dzabuu biaayaatinaa waliqaa-i-aakhirati fa-uula-ika fiil 'adzaabi muhdharuun(a)

    As for those who disbelieved and gave the lie to Our Signs and to the encounter of the Hereafter, they will be arraigned for chastisement.

17. 30:17

    فَسُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ حِيْنَ تُمْسُوْنَ وَحِيْنَ تُصْبِحُوْنَ

    Fasubhaanallahi hiina tumsuuna wahiina tushbihuun(a)

    So glorify Allah in the evening and the morning.

18. 30:18

    وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَّحِيْنَ تُظْهِرُوْنَ

    Walahul hamdu fiis-samaawaati wal ardhi wa'asyii-yan wahiina tuzhhiruun(a)

    His is all praise in the heavens and in the earth; (and glorify Him) in the afternoon and when the sun begins to decline.

19. 30:19

    يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ وَيُحْيِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۗوَكَذٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُوْنَ ࣖ

    Yukhrijul hai-ya minal mai-yiti wayukhrijul mai-yita minal hai-yi wayuhyiil ardha ba'da mautihaa wakadzalika tukhrajuun(a)

    He brings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living, and revives the earth after it is dead. Likewise will you be raised to life (after you die).

20. 30:20

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖٓ اَنْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ اِذَآ اَنْتُمْ بَشَرٌ تَنْتَشِرُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi an khalaqakum min turaabin tsumma idzaa antum basyarun tantasyiruun(a)

    And of His Signs is that He created you from dust and behold, you became human beings, and are multiplying around (the earth).

21. 30:21

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖٓ اَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوْٓا اِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَّوَدَّةً وَّرَحْمَةً ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi an khalaqa lakum min anfusikum azwaajan litaskunuu ilaihaa waja'ala bainakum mawaddatan warahmatan inna fii dzalika li-aayaatin liqaumin yatafakkaruun(a)

    And of His Signs is that He has created mates for you from your own kind that you may find peace in them and He has set between you love and mercy. Surely there are Signs in this for those who reflect.

22. 30:22

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ خَلْقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ اَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَاَلْوَانِكُمْۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّلْعٰلِمِيْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi khalqus-samaawaati wal ardhi waakhtilaafu alsinatikum wa-alwaanikum inna fii dzalika li-aayaatil(n)-lil'aalimiin(a)

    And of His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and colours. Indeed there are Signs in this for the wise.

23. 30:23

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ مَنَامُكُمْ بِالَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَابْتِغَاۤؤُكُمْ مِّنْ فَضْلِهٖۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّسْمَعُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi manaamukum billaili wannahaari waabtighaa'ukum min fadhlihi inna fii dzalika li-aayaatin liqaumin yasma'uun(a)

    And of His Signs is your sleeping at night and your seeking His Bounty during the day. Indeed there are Signs in this for those who hearken.

24. 30:24

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖ يُرِيْكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَّطَمَعًا وَّيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً فَيُحْيٖ بِهِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَاۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi yuriikumul barqa khaufan wathama'an wayunazzilu minassamaa-i maa-an fayuhyii bihil ardha ba'da mautihaa inna fii dzalika li-aayaatin liqaumin ya'qiluun(a)

    And of His Signs is that He shows you lightning, arousing both fear and hope, and sends down water from the sky and revives the earth after it is dead. Indeed there are Signs in this for those who use their reason.

25. 30:25

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖٓ اَنْ تَقُوْمَ السَّمَاۤءُ وَالْاَرْضُ بِاَمْرِهٖۗ ثُمَّ اِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةًۖ مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ اِذَآ اَنْتُمْ تَخْرُجُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi an taquumassamaa-u wal ardhu biamrihi tsumma idzaa da'aakum da'watan minal ardhi idzaa antum takhrujuun(a)

    And of His Signs is that the sky and the earth stand firm by His command. Then no sooner than He summons you out of the earth you will come forth.

26. 30:26

    وَلَهٗ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ كُلٌّ لَّهٗ قَانِتُوْنَ

    Walahu man fiis-samaawaati wal ardhi kullun lahu qaanituun(a)

    To Him belong all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth. All are in obedience to Him.

27. 30:27

    وَهُوَ الَّذِيْ يَبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ وَهُوَ اَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِۗ وَلَهُ الْمَثَلُ الْاَعْلٰى فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ࣖ

    Wahuwal-ladzii yabdaul khalqa tsumma yu'iiduhu wahuwa ahwanu 'alaihi walahul matsalul a'la fiis-samaawaati wal ardhi wahuwal 'aziizul hakiim(u)

    It is He Who creates in the first instance and it is He Who will repeat the creation, and that is easier for Him. His is the loftiest attribute in the heavens and the earth. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise.

28. 30:28

    ضَرَبَ لَكُمْ مَّثَلًا مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْۗ هَلْ لَّكُمْ مِّنْ مَّا مَلَكَتْ اَيْمَانُكُمْ مِّنْ شُرَكَاۤءَ فِيْ مَا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ فَاَنْتُمْ فِيْهِ سَوَاۤءٌ تَخَافُوْنَهُمْ كَخِيْفَتِكُمْ اَنْفُسَكُمْۗ كَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ

    Dharaba lakum matsalaa min anfusikum hal lakum min maa malakat aimaanukum min syurakaa-a fii maa razaqnaakum fa-antum fiihi sawaa-un takhaafuunahum kakhiifatikum anfusakum kadzalika nufash-shiluaayaati liqaumin ya'qiluun(a)

    He sets forth for you a parable from your own lives. Do you have among your slaves some who share with you the sustenance that We have bestowed on you so that you become equals in it, all being alike, and then you would hold them in fear as you fear each other? Thus do We make plain the Signs for those who use reason.

29. 30:29

    بَلِ اتَّبَعَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۗ فَمَنْ يَّهْدِيْ مَنْ اَضَلَّ اللّٰهُ ۗوَمَا لَهُمْ مِّنْ نّٰصِرِيْنَ

    Baliittaba'al-ladziina zhalamuu ahwaa-ahum bighairi 'ilmin faman yahdii man adhallallahu wamaa lahum min naashiriin(a)

    But the wrong-doers follow their desires without any knowledge. Who, then, can show the way to him whom Allah lets go astray? Such shall have no helpers.

30. 30:30

    فَاَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّيْنِ حَنِيْفًاۗ فِطْرَتَ اللّٰهِ الَّتِيْ فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَاۗ لَا تَبْدِيْلَ لِخَلْقِ اللّٰهِ ۗذٰلِكَ الدِّيْنُ الْقَيِّمُۙ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۙ

    Fa-aqim wajhaka li-ddiini haniifan fithratal-lahillatii fatharannaasa 'alaihaa laa tabdiila likhalqillahi dzalikaddiinul qai-yimu walakinna aktsarannaasi laa ya'lamuun(a)

    (O Prophet and his followers), turn your face singlemindedly to the true Faith and adhere to the true nature on which Allah has created human beings. The mould fashioned by Allah cannot be altered. That is the True, Straight Faith, although most people do not know.

31. 30:31

    ۞ مُنِيْبِيْنَ اِلَيْهِ وَاتَّقُوْهُ وَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَۙ

    Muniibiina ilaihi waattaquuhu wa-aqiimuush-shalaata walaa takuunuu minal musyrikiin(a)

    (Adhere to the True Faith and) turn to Him, and hold Him in awe, and establish Prayer, and do not be of those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity,

32. 30:32

    مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ فَرَّقُوْا دِيْنَهُمْ وَكَانُوْا شِيَعًا ۗ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۢ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُوْنَ

    Minal-ladziina farraquu diinahum wakaanuu syiya'an kullu hizbin bimaa ladaihim farihuun(a)

    those who have split up their religion and have become divided into sects, each party exulting in what they have.

33. 30:33

    وَاِذَا مَسَّ النَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا رَبَّهُمْ مُّنِيْبِيْنَ اِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ اِذَآ اَذَاقَهُمْ مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً اِذَا فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُوْنَۙ

    Wa-idzaa massannaasa dhurrun da'au rabbahum muniibiina ilaihi tsumma idzaa adzaaqahum minhu rahmatan idzaa fariiqun minhum birabbihim yusyrikuun(a)

    (Such are human beings) that when any misfortune befalls them, they cry to their Lord, penitently turning to Him. But no sooner that He lets them have a taste of His Mercy than some of them begin associating others with their Lord in His Divinity

34. 30:34

    لِيَكْفُرُوْا بِمَآ اٰتَيْنٰهُمْۗ فَتَمَتَّعُوْاۗ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ

    Liyakfuruu bimaa aatainaahum fatamatta'uu fasaufa ta'lamuun(a)

    so that they may show ingratitude to Us for the favours We had bestowed upon them. So, enjoy yourselves a while; but then you shall soon come to know.

35. 30:35

    اَمْ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يُشْرِكُوْنَ

    Am anzalnaa 'alaihim sulthaanan fahuwa yatakallamu bimaa kaanuu bihi yusyrikuun(a)

    Have We sent down any sanction which provides support to their associating others with Allah in His Divinity?

36. 30:36

    وَاِذَآ اَذَقْنَا النَّاسَ رَحْمَةً فَرِحُوْا بِهَاۗ وَاِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ ۢبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ اِذَا هُمْ يَقْنَطُوْنَ

    Wa-idzaa adzaqnaannaasa rahmatan farihuu bihaa wa-in tushibhum sai-yi-atun bimaa qaddamat aidiihim idzaa hum yaqnathuun(a)

    When We make people have a taste of Our Mercy, they exult in it; and when any misfortune befalls them in consequence of their deeds, then lo and behold, they despair.

37. 30:37

    اَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيَقْدِرُۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ

    Awalam yarau annallaha yabsuthurrizqa liman yasyaa-u wayaqdiru inna fii dzalika li-aayaatin liqaumin yu'minuun(a)

    Do they not see that Allah enlarges and straitens the sustenance of those whom He pleases? There are Signs in this for those who believe.

38. 30:38

    فَاٰتِ ذَا الْقُرْبٰى حَقَّهٗ وَالْمِسْكِيْنَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيْلِۗ ذٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ يُرِيْدُوْنَ وَجْهَ اللّٰهِ ۖوَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ

    Faaati dzaal qurba haqqahu wal miskiina waabnassabiili dzalika khairul(n)-lil-ladziina yuriiduuna wajhallahi wa-uula-ika humul muflihuun(a)

    So give his due to the near of kin, and to the needy, and to the wayfarer. That is better for those who desire to please Allah. It is they who will prosper.

39. 30:39

    وَمَآ اٰتَيْتُمْ مِّنْ رِّبًا لِّيَرْبُوَا۠ فِيْٓ اَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُوْا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۚوَمَآ اٰتَيْتُمْ مِّنْ زَكٰوةٍ تُرِيْدُوْنَ وَجْهَ اللّٰهِ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُضْعِفُوْنَ

    Wamaa aataitum min riban liyarbuwa fii amwaalinnaasi falaa yarbuu 'indallahi wamaa aataitum min zakaatin turiiduuna wajhallahi fa-uula-ika humul mudh'ifuun(a)

    Whatever you pay as interest so that it may increase the wealth of people does not increase in the sight of Allah. As for the Zakah that you give, seeking with it Allah's good pleasure, that is multiplied manifold.

40. 30:40

    اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيْتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيْكُمْۗ هَلْ مِنْ شُرَكَاۤىِٕكُمْ مَّنْ يَّفْعَلُ مِنْ ذٰلِكُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍۗ سُبْحٰنَهٗ وَتَعٰلٰى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ࣖ

    Allahul-ladzii khalaqakum tsumma razaqakum tsumma yumiitukum tsumma yuhyiikum hal min syurakaa-ikum man yaf'alu min dzalikum min syai-in subhaanahu wata'aala 'ammaa yusyrikuun(a)

    It is Allah Who created you, then bestowed upon you your sustenance, and He will cause you to die and then will bring you back to life. Can any of those whom you associate with Allah in His Divinity! do any such thing? Glory be to Him and exalted be He above whatever they associate with Allah in His Divinity.

41. 30:41

    ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِى الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ اَيْدِى النَّاسِ لِيُذِيْقَهُمْ بَعْضَ الَّذِيْ عَمِلُوْا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ

    Zhaharal fasaadu fiil barri wal bahri bimaa kasabat aidiinnaasi liyudziiqahum ba'dhal-ladzii 'amiluu la'allahum yarji'uun(a)

    Evil has become rife on the land and at sea because of men's deeds; this in order that He may cause them to have a taste of some of their deeds; perhaps they will turn back (from evil).

42. 30:42

    قُلْ سِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلُۗ كَانَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّشْرِكِيْنَ

    Qul siiruu fiil ardhi faanzhuruu kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul-ladziina min qablu kaana aktsaruhum musyrikiin(a)

    (O Prophet), say: “Traverse in the earth and see what was the end of those who went before you: most of them associated others with Allah in His Divinity.”

43. 30:43

    فَاَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّيْنِ الْقَيِّمِ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهٗ مِنَ اللّٰهِ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّصَّدَّعُوْنَ

    Fa-aqim wajhaka li-ddiinil qai-yimi min qabli an ya'tiya yaumun laa maradda lahu minallahi yauma-idzin yash-shadda'uun(a)

    So turn your face exclusively towards the True Faith before there comes the Day whose coming from Allah cannot be averted, the Day when people will split into groups.

44. 30:44

    مَنْ كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهٗۚ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِاَنْفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُوْنَۙ

    Man kafara fa'alaihi kufruhu waman 'amila shaalihan fal-anfusihim yamhaduun(a)

    He who disbelieves will suffer the consequence of it and he who acts righteously, they will pave the way for their own good

45. 30:45

    لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنْ فَضْلِهٖۗ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ

    Liyajziyal-ladziina aamanuu wa'amiluush-shaalihaati min fadhlihi innahu laa yuhibbul kaafiriin(a)

    so that Allah may, out of His Bounty, reward those who believe and act righteously. Verily He does not love the unbelievers.

46. 30:46

    وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖٓ اَنْ يُّرْسِلَ الرِّيٰحَ مُبَشِّرٰتٍ وَّلِيُذِيْقَكُمْ مِّنْ رَّحْمَتِهٖ وَلِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ بِاَمْرِهٖ وَلِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ

    Wamin aayaatihi an yursilarriyaaha mubasy-syiraatin waliyudziiqakum min rahmatihi walitajriyal fulku biamrihi walitabtaghuu min fadhlihi wala'allakum tasykuruun(a)

    And of His Signs is that He sends winds to herald good tidings and that He may give you a taste of His Mercy, and that ships may sail at His bidding, and you may seek His Bounty and give thanks to Him.

47. 30:47

    وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَاۤءُوْهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ اَجْرَمُوْاۗ وَكَانَ حَقًّاۖ عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ

    Walaqad arsalnaa min qablika rusulaa ila qaumihim fajaa-uuhum bil bai-yinaati faantaqamnaa minal-ladziina ajramuu wakaana haqqan 'alainaa nashrul mu'miniin(a)

    We sent Messengers before you to their respective nations, and they brought Clear Signs to them. Then We took vengeance upon those who acted wickedly. It was incumbent on Us to come to the aid of the believers.

48. 30:48

    اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ فَتُثِيْرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبْسُطُهٗ فِى السَّمَاۤءِ كَيْفَ يَشَاۤءُ وَيَجْعَلُهٗ كِسَفًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلٰلِهٖۚ فَاِذَآ اَصَابَ بِهٖ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهٖٓ اِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُوْنَۚ

    Allahul-ladzii yursilurriyaaha fatutsiiru sahaaban fayabsuthuhu fiissamaa-i kaifa yasyaa-u wayaj'aluhu kisafan fataral wadqa yakhruju min khilalihi fa-idzaa ashaaba bihi man yasyaa-u min 'ibaadihi idzaa hum yastabsyiruun(a)

    Allah sends the winds that stir up clouds and then He spreads them in the sky as He pleases and splits them into different fragments, whereafter you see drops of rain pouring down from them. He then causes the rain to fall on whomsoever of His servants He pleases, and lo, they rejoice at it,

49. 30:49

    وَاِنْ كَانُوْا مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يُّنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِهٖ لَمُبْلِسِيْنَۚ

    Wa-in kaanuu min qabli an yunazzala 'alaihim min qablihi lamublisiin(a)

    although before that they were given to despair.

50. 30:50

    فَانْظُرْ اِلٰٓى اٰثٰرِ رَحْمَتِ اللّٰهِ كَيْفَ يُحْيِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَاۗ اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَمُحْيِ الْمَوْتٰىۚ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

    Faanzhur ila aatsaari rahmatillahi kaifa yuhyiil ardha ba'da mautihaa inna dzalika lamuhyiil mauta wahuwa 'ala kulli syai-in qadiirun

    See, then, the tokens of Allah's Mercy: how He revives the earth after it is dead. Verily He is the One Who will revive the dead. He has power over everything.

51. 30:51

    وَلَىِٕنْ اَرْسَلْنَا رِيْحًا فَرَاَوْهُ مُصْفَرًّا لَّظَلُّوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ يَكْفُرُوْنَ

    Wala-in arsalnaa riihan faraa-uhu mushfarran lazhalluu min ba'dihi yakfuruun(a)

    But if We were to send a wind and then their tilth has become yellow, they would never cease to disbelieve.

52. 30:52

    فَاِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتٰى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاۤءَ اِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِيْنَ

    Fa-innaka laa tusmi'ul mauta walaa tusmi'ush-shummaddu'aa-a idzaa wallau mudbiriin(a)

    (O Prophet), you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear your call when they turn back in retreat,

53. 30:53

    وَمَآ اَنْتَ بِهٰدِ الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلٰلَتِهِمْۗ اِنْ تُسْمِعُ اِلَّا مَنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ ࣖ

    Wamaa anta bihaadil 'umyi 'an dhalaalatihim in tusmi'u ilaa man yu'minu biaayaatinaa fahum muslimuun(a)

    nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You can make none hear (your call) except those who believe in Our Signs and have surrendered themselves (to Him).

54. 30:54

    ۞ اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَّشَيْبَةً ۗيَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاۤءُۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيْمُ الْقَدِيْرُ

    Allahul-ladzii khalaqakum min dha' fin tsumma ja'ala min ba'di dha' fin quu-watan tsumma ja'ala min ba'di quu-watin dha' fan wasyaibatan yakhluqu maa yasyaa-u wahuwal 'aliimul qadiir(u)

    It is Allah Who created you in a state of weakness; then after weakness He gave you strength, then after strength He made you weak and old. He creates what He pleases. He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

55. 30:55

    وَيَوْمَ تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ ەۙ مَا لَبِثُوْا غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ ۗ كَذٰلِكَ كَانُوْا يُؤْفَكُوْنَ

    Wayauma taquumussaa'atu yuqsimul mujrimuuna maa labitsuu ghaira saa'atin kadzalika kaanuu yu'fakuun(a)

    On that Day when the Hour will come to pass the wicked shall swear that they had stayed (in the world) no more than an hour. Thus they used to be deceived in the life of the world.

56. 30:56

    وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَالْاِيْمَانَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِيْ كِتٰبِ اللّٰهِ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْبَعْثِۖ فَهٰذَا يَوْمُ الْبَعْثِ وَلٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ

    Waqaalal-ladziina uutuul 'ilma wal-iimaana laqad labitstum fii kitaabillahi ila yaumil ba' tsi fahadzaa yaumul ba' tsi walakinnakum kuntum laa ta'lamuun(a)

    But those who had been endowed with knowledge and faith shall say: “According to Allah's Record you have stayed till the Day of Resurrection. Now, this is the Day of Resurrection. But you did not know.”

57. 30:57

    فَيَوْمَىِٕذٍ لَّا يَنْفَعُ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُوْنَ

    Fayauma-idzin laa yanfa'ul-ladziina zhalamuu ma'dziratuhum walaa hum yusta'tabuun(a)

    So that will be the Day when the excuses of the wrong-doers will not avail them, nor will they be asked to make amends.

58. 30:58

    وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِيْ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنِ مِنْ كُلِّ مَثَلٍۗ وَلَىِٕنْ جِئْتَهُمْ بِاٰيَةٍ لَّيَقُوْلَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا مُبْطِلُوْنَ

    Walaqad dharabnaa li-nnaasi fii hadzaal quraani min kulli matsalin wala-in ji-atahum biaayatin layaquulannal-ladziina kafaruu in antum ilaa mubthiluun(a)

    In the Qur'an We have explained things to people in myriad ways. But no matter what Sign you bring to them, those who are resolved upon denying the Truth will say: “You are given to falsehood.”

59. 30:59

    كَذٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ

    Kadzalika yathba'ullahu 'ala quluubil-ladziina laa ya'lamuun(a)

    Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who have no knowledge.

60. 30:60

    فَاصْبِرْ اِنَّ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّلَا يَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يُوْقِنُوْنَ ࣖ

    Faashbir inna wa'dallahi haqqun walaa yastakhiffannakal-ladziina laa yuuqinuun(a)

    Therefore, (O Prophet), have patience. Surely Allah's promise is true. Let those who lack certainty not cause you to be unsteady.
