Surah At-Taghabun: Arabic, Transliteration & Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. 64:1

   يُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُۖ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

   Yusabbihu lillahi maa fiis-samaawaati wamaa fiil ardhi lahul mulku walahul hamdu wahuwa 'ala kulli syai-in qadiirun

   All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth extols Allah's glory. His is the sovereignty and to Him is all praise due; He has power over everything.

2. 64:2

   هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنْكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَّمِنْكُمْ مُّؤْمِنٌۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ

   Huwal-ladzii khalaqakum faminkum kaafirun waminkum mu'minun wallahu bimaa ta'maluuna bashiirun

   He it is Who has created you: and among you are those that deny the Truth and among you are those that believe in it. Allah observes all that you do.

3. 64:3

   خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَاَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْۚ وَاِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيْرُ

   Khalaqas-samaawaati wal ardha bil haqqi washau-warakum fa-ahsana shuwarakum wa-ilaihil mashiir(u)

   He created the heavens and the earth with Truth and shaped you, giving you excellent shapes. And to Him is your ultimate return.

4. 64:4

   يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّوْنَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُوْنَۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ ۢبِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ

   Ya'lamu maa fiis-samaawaati wal ardhi waya'lamu maa tusirruuna wamaa tu'linuuna wallahu 'aliimun bidzaatish-shuduur(i)

   He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you disclose. Allah even knows what lies hidden in the breasts of people.

5. 64:5

   اَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖفَذَاقُوْا وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ

   Alam ya'tikum nabaul-ladziina kafaruu min qablu fadzaaquu wabaala amrihim walahum 'adzaabun aliimun

   Has the news of the unbelievers of the past not reached you? (They disbelieved) and then tasted its evil consequence. A grievous chastisement awaits them.

6. 64:6

   ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهٗ كَانَتْ تَّأْتِيْهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ فَقَالُوْٓا اَبَشَرٌ يَّهْدُوْنَنَاۖ فَكَفَرُوْا وَتَوَلَّوْا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللّٰهُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيْدٌ

   Dzalika biannahu kaanat ta'tiihim rusuluhum bil bai-yinaati faqaaluuu abasyarun yahduunanaa fakafaruu watawallau waastaghnallahu wallahu ghanii-yun hamiidun

   This was because their Messengers would come to them with Clear Signs, but they would say: “Shall mortals (like ourselves) guide us to the Right Way?” They rejected the Truth and turned away. Thereupon Allah became unconcerned with them, for Allah is Self-Sufficient, Innately Praiseworthy.

7. 64:7

   زَعَمَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اَنْ لَّنْ يُّبْعَثُوْاۗ قُلْ بَلٰى وَرَبِّيْ لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْۗ وَذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيْرٌ

   Za'amal-ladziina kafaruu an lan yub'atsuu qul bala warabbii latub'atsunna tsumma latunabba'unna bimaa 'amiltum wadzalika 'alallahi yasiirun

   The unbelievers have vehemently contended that they shall not be raised to life. Say to them: “Yes, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised to life, and you shall certainly be fully informed of all that you did. That is easy enough for Allah.”

8. 64:8

   فَاٰمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَالنُّوْرِ الَّذِيْٓ اَنْزَلْنَاۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ

   Faaaminuu billahi warasuulihi wannuuril-ladzii anzalnaa wallahu bimaa ta'maluuna khabiirun

   So believe in Allah and in His Messenger and in the Light that We have sent down. Allah is fully aware of what you do.

9. 64:9

   يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْجَمْعِ ذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِۗ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُّكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّاٰتِهٖ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًاۗ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ

   Yauma yajma'ukum liyaumil jam'i dzalika yaumuttaghaabuni waman yu'min billahi waya'mal shaalihan yukaffir 'anhu sai-yi-aatihi wayudkhilhu jannaatin tajrii min tahtihaal anhaaru khaalidiina fiihaa abadan dzalikal fauzul 'azhiim(u)

   (You shall come to know that) when He will assemble you on the Day of Gathering. That shall be the Day (to determine) mutual gains and losses. Whoever believes in Allah and acts righteously, Allah will have his evil deeds expunged and will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Therein they shall abide forever. That is the supreme triumph.

10. 64:10

    وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَكَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۗ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ ࣖ

    Waal-ladziina kafaruu wakadz-dzabuu biaayaatinaa uula-ika ashhaabunnaari khaalidiina fiihaa wabi-asal mashiir(u)

    As for those who disbelieved and gave the lie to Our Signs: they shall be the inmates of the Fire, and will abide in it. That is a woeful resort!

11. 64:11

    مَآ اَصَابَ مِنْ مُّصِيْبَةٍ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهٗ ۗوَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ

    Maa ashaaba min mushiibatin ilaa biidznillahi waman yu'min billahi yahdi qalbahu wallahu bikulli syai-in 'aliimun

    No misfortune ever befalls unless it be by Allah's leave. And whosoever has faith in Allah, Allah directs his heart along the Right Path. Allah has knowledge of everything.

12. 64:12

    وَاَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوا الرَّسُوْلَۚ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاِنَّمَا عَلٰى رَسُوْلِنَا الْبَلٰغُ الْمُبِيْنُ

    Wa-athii'uullaha wa-athii'uurrasuula fa-in tawallaitum fa-innamaa 'ala rasuulinaal balaaghul mubiin(u)

    Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away from obedience, (then know that) Our Messenger has no other duty than to clearly convey the Truth.

13. 64:13

    اَللّٰهُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۗ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ

    Allahu laa ilaha ilaa huwa wa'alallahi falyatawakkalil mu'minuun(a)

    Allah there is no god but He; in Allah should the believers put all their trust.

14. 64:14

    يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَاَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوْهُمْۚ وَاِنْ تَعْفُوْا وَتَصْفَحُوْا وَتَغْفِرُوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ

    Yaa ai-yuhaal-ladziina aamanuu inna min azwaajikum wa-aulaadikum 'aduu-wan lakum faahdzaruuhum wa-in ta'fuu watashfahuu wataghfiruu fa-innallaha ghafuurun rahiimun

    Believers, there are enemies to you from among your spouses and your off-spring, so beware of them. But if you forgive and overlook their offences and pardon them, then surely Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.

15. 64:15

    اِنَّمَآ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۗوَاللّٰهُ عِنْدَهٗٓ اَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ

    Innamaa amwaalukum wa-aulaadukum fitnatun wallahu 'indahu ajrun 'azhiimun

    Your possessions and your offspring are nothing but a trial for you. And there awaits a great reward for you with Allah.

16. 64:16

    فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوْا وَاَطِيْعُوْا وَاَنْفِقُوْا خَيْرًا لِّاَنْفُسِكُمْۗ وَمَنْ يُّوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهٖ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ

    Faattaquullaha maaastatha'tum waasma'uu wa-athii'uu wa-anfiquu khairan anfusikum waman yuuqa syuhha nafsihi fa-uula-ika humul muflihuun(a)

    So hold Allah in awe as much as you can, and listen and obey, and be charitable. This is for your own good. And whoever remains safe from his own greediness, it is such that will prosper.

17. 64:17

    اِنْ تُقْرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُّضٰعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ شَكُوْرٌ حَلِيْمٌۙ

    In tuqridhuullaha qardhan hasanan yudhaa'ifhu lakum wayaghfir lakum wallahu syakuurun haliimun

    If you give Allah a goodly loan, He will increase it for you several fold and will forgive you. Allah is Most Appreciative, Most Forbearing.

18. 64:18

    عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ࣖ

    'Aalimul ghaibi wasy-syahaadatil 'aziizul hakiim(u)

    He knows that which is beyond the ken of perception as well as that which can be perceived. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise.
