Surah Ad-Duha: Arabic, Transliteration & Translation

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

1. 93:1

   وَالضُّحٰىۙ

   Wadh-dhuha

   By the bright forenoon,

2. 93:2

   وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا سَجٰىۙ

   Wallaili idzaa saja

   and by the night when it covers the world with peace:

3. 93:3

   مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلٰىۗ

   Maa wadda'aka rabbuka wamaa qala

   (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased.

4. 93:4

   وَلَلْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْاُوْلٰىۗ

   Walal-aakhiratu khairun laka minal aula

   Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by.

5. 93:5

   وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيْكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضٰىۗ

   Walasaufa yu'thiika rabbuka fatardha

   Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased.

6. 93:6

   اَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيْمًا فَاٰوٰىۖ

   Alam yajidka yatiiman fa-aawa

   Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter?

7. 93:7

   وَوَجَدَكَ ضَاۤلًّا فَهَدٰىۖ

   Wawajadaka dhaaalan fahada

   Did He not find you unaware of the Right Way, and then directed you to it?

8. 93:8

   وَوَجَدَكَ عَاۤىِٕلًا فَاَغْنٰىۗ

   Wawajadaka 'aa-ilaa fa-aghna

   And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you?

9. 93:9

   فَاَمَّا الْيَتِيْمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْۗ

   Fa-ammaal yatiima falaa taqhar

   Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan;

10. 93:10

    وَاَمَّا السَّاۤىِٕلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

    Wa-ammaassaa-ila falaa tanhar

    and chide not him who asks,

11. 93:11

    وَاَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ࣖ

    Wa-ammaa bini'mati rabbika fahaddits

    and proclaim the bounty of your Lord.
