About Surah Al-Ikhlas

Al-Ikhlas (“Sincerity”) is a four-verse declaration of the oneness of Allah (tawhid).

In the hadith

  • The Prophet ﷺ said that it is equal to one third of the Quran. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5013)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

  1. 112:1

    قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدٌۚ

    Qul huwallahu ahad(un)

    Say: “He is Allah, the One and Unique;

  2. 112:2

    اَللّٰهُ الصَّمَدُۚ

    Allahush-shamad(u)

    Allah, Who is in need of none and of Whom all are in need;

  3. 112:3

    لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْۙ

    Lam yalid walam yuulad

    He neither begot any nor was He begotten,

  4. 112:4

    وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ ࣖ

    Walam yakul(n) lahu kufuwan ahad(un)

    and none is comparable to Him.”
